Official Launch: M-KURA DAO. v1.0.0 πŸŽ‰

Β· 3 min read

We’re thrilled to announce the official launch of M-KURA DAO v1.0.0, a decentralized governance and treasury system hosted on the Celo blockchain. This milestone marks the beginning of a secure, autonomous framework that empowers users to participate in governance while ensuring transparency and security.

Our system is built on four core smart contracts that work seamlessly to deliver robust governance functionality:

  1. Timelock Controller (Treasury Vault): View on Blockscout
  2. MKura DAO Token (MKDT): View on Blockscout
  3. History Token (MKDH): View on Blockscout
  4. Governor (Votes Manager): View on Blockscout

Highlights of M-KURA DAO

1. Timelock Controller (Treasury Vault)

The Timelock Controller is the backbone of M-KURA DAO, acting as a secure treasury. It enforces delays on all operations and ensures execution only after governance approval.

Key Features:

  • Minimum Delay: A mandatory 2-day delay before executing any operations, providing a buffer for review.
  • Roles:
    • Proposer: Governor manages proposal scheduling.
    • Canceller: Core members safeguard against malicious activities.
    • Executor: Anyone can execute approved operations.
    • Admin: Temporarily held by the deployer to manage initial setups.

Security Measures:

  • Role-based permissions ensure only authorized actions are performed.
  • Transparent logging of all treasury operations on the blockchain.

2. MKura DAO Token (MKDT)

The MKura DAO Token is the governance token, serving as both the membership pass and voting power in the DAO.

Tokenomics:

  • Minting: 1 MKDT is minted for 2 USDT, with tokens evaporating over time:

    • 66% after 30 days.
    • 33% after 60 days.
    • 100% after 90 days.
  • Locked Transfers: Prevents trading or transferring tokens to maintain governance integrity.

Security Measures:

  • Prevents accumulation of excessive voting power.
  • Gradual evaporation ensures fairness and continuity.

3. History Token (MKDH)

The History Token serves as a ledger of DAO milestones, capturing historical records of membership and transactions.

Key Features:

  • Controlled Minting: Only authorized contracts can mint MKDH.
  • Non-Transferable: Maintains the authenticity of historical data.

Security Measures:

  • Immutable record-keeping for DAO milestones.

4. Governor (Votes Manager)

The Governor contract facilitates proposal creation, voting, and execution, forming the heart of the DAO’s governance.

Governance Workflow:

  • Proposal Creation: Requires 1 MKDT. Duplicate proposals are automatically disallowed.

  • Voting:

    • 3-day delay before voting begins.
    • Voting remains open for 2 weeks.
    • Voting power adjusts for token evaporation.
  • Execution: Successful proposals are queued in the Timelock and executed after a 2-day delay.

Security Measures:

  • Quorum of 51% ensures consensus.
  • Delays provide ample review time.
  • Expired proposals remain unexecuted, safeguarding governance integrity.

Why M-KURA DAO?

  1. Transparency: All actions are logged on the blockchain, ensuring complete visibility.
  2. Security: Role-based access control and time-locked treasury operations safeguard against malicious activity.
  3. Inclusivity: A fair token system prevents concentration of power, promoting equal representation.
  4. Sustainability: Gradual evaporation mechanisms keep the DAO active and engaged.
